The 'Lamella' cardboard furniture family was designed as part of my degree project in Industrial Design Msc.

The material used for the design is fully recyclable 7 mm wide 5 layered (BC) corrugated cardboard. The product is easy to assemble; no tools or other materials are needed.
The aim of the design was to ease people’s usual prejudice, that a product that is made of cardboard can only be poor quality with boring rectangular shapes. I believe that it is not at all like that. There are a lot of advantages on using cardboard as a material of furniture.
First of all it is cheap, light and environmentally friendly material. I believe that with the Lamella Furniture family, I can awake people’s attention to the fact of how important role sustainability plays in design. It is so easy to take a little care of our environment, why should not start it with buying a fully sustainable furniture to our home at the first step?

The real size prototypes were made at the Dunapack Kft. The project was carried out at the Terbe Design Company.
